Myah Is More Indifferent To Dick Van Patten’s Natural Balance Lamb, Chicken Meal & Rabbit Formula Dog Food.

The Good: Very nutritious, Great ingredients
The Bad: Comparatively expensive, Myah is indifferent to the taste on it.
The Basics: Myah seems to question how Dick Van Patten is an authority on dogs when she ignores Dick Van Patten’s Natural Balance Lamb, Chicken Meal & Rabbit Formula adult dog food.

Myah and I are boldly exploring dog foods. She tells me, more often than not, very clearly, what she thinks of new dog foods we test. When we picked up the five pound bag of Dick Van Patten’s Natural Balance dog food, my first question was, what makes Dick Van Patten, an actor, an authority of any kind on dogs?!

Dick Van Patten’s Natural Balance Lamb, Chicken Meal & Rabbit Formula dog food seems to have her asking the same question as she does not seem to care much about this food at all.

Basics

A single serving of Dick Van Patten’s Natural Balance Lamb, Chicken Meal & Rabbit Formula dog food is a cup for a big dog like Myah and she is supposed to get two servings per day, so a five pound bag does not last long at all. Getting less than a month out of the $25 bag does not work for my budget. Each piece of Dick Van Patten’s Natural Balance Lamb, Chicken Meal & Rabbit Formula dog food is a light brown disc that is very mealy in its texture, though they are hard. They are approximately 1/2" in diameter and 1/8” thick. They have a mealy appearance and are very hard. Myah often eats these several pellets at a time.

Ease Of Preparation

As a dry dog food, preparation of Dick Van Patten’s Natural Balance Lamb, Chicken Meal & Rabbit Formula dog is as easy as opening a bag and measuring out the pellets inside. There is no further prep needed.

Myah’s Reaction

Myah did not actually come back to Dick Van Patten’s Natural Balance Lamb, Chicken Meal & Rabbit Formula dog. She had one bowl, where she sniffed it, ate it eagerly. But then, she did not eagerly come back to it. The scent of this dog food is lightly that of chicken. Myah, who loves real chicken, did not love this food. Instead, she had a “take it or leave it” attitude and the only times she actually comes back to it are when she is very hungry and it is the only option she is given.

Nutrition

Dick Van Patten’s Natural Balance Lamb, Chicken Meal & Rabbit Formula dog food smells very much like chicken and is made with real meats. Made primarily of Lamb, Chicken Meal and potatoes, the ingredients are almost all natural. According to the guaranteed analysis, Dick Van Patten’s Natural Balance Lamb, Chicken Meal & Rabbit Formula dog food has at least 26% crude protein, 11.5% crude fat, but no more than 4% crude fiber and 10% moisture. There are also some great Omega 6 and Omega 3 fatty acids. As a dry dog food, it is highly recommended that you have adequate water available for your dog when serving it Dick Van Patten’s Natural Balance Lamb, Chicken Meal & Rabbit Formula dog food.

Overall

Dick Van Patten’s Natural Balance Lamb, Chicken Meal & Rabbit Formula dog food is made with great ingredients, but forces owners to pay through the nose through it and dogs, at least Myah, might well be indifferent to it.
