Amazing Cleaning Power Makes It Easy To Endorse Clorox Lemon Fresh Disinfecting Wipes!

The Good: Good Decent scent, Amazing cleaning power, Affordable
The Bad: Environmentally irresponsible
The Basics: Clorox Lemon Fresh Disinfecting Wipes are exceptionally convenient and (almost) fun to use!

As my wife and I have moved from New York to Michigan, my life has taken an incredible turn. I have spend a great deal of time the last few days cleaning and unpacking (only one broken glass in the 600 mile move!) and cleaning our new place. That has been facilitated, in part, by my wife having bought Clorox Disinfecting Wipes. I’ll admit, I’m the kind of person who is usually happy to spray and use a reusable cloth to wipe with, but damn, if these Lemon Fresh Clorox Disinfecting Wipes are not exceptionally convenient and powerful, as a cleaner!

Clorox Lemon Fresh All Purpose Wipes come in a seventy-five pack plastic canister. The canister is a #2 recyclable canister, which can be recycled virtually anywhere that has a recycling program. The canister has a pretty large footprint as it is eight and three-eighths inches tall with a four and one quarter inch diameter! Still, it is exactly what is needed to comfortably hold the seventy-five wipes.

That said, the canister is a comparatively inexpensive medium-hard plastic container with a cap that has a flip top dispensing hole. If one fails to thread the wipes through correctly, the cap may be popped off and access granted to the container, though it is not recommended to leave the container open as the wipes will dry out.

What are Clorox Lemon Fresh all purpose wipes? They are like baby wipes for one's furniture and possessions. Virtually any surface one might usually dust or use a limited cleaner on is what these wipes may be used for. Use of these wipes is ridiculously easy: flip the cap open on the top of the plastic container and pull the wipe out. As it exits the container, it will present the top of the next wipe for the next time. Close the container by clicking the cap back in place and wipe the surface you wish to clean with the wipe. It is that easy. When you are done, throw the wipe away!

Clorox Lemon Fresh all purpose wipes are 7 1/4" by 7 7/8" rectangles of fibrous cleaning power. The baby wipe analogy is an apt one. These cleaning cloths are durable, clean and have limited stretch to them. Despite being Lemon Fresh scented, they are white (at least when one starts cleaning with one!).

As for the scent, these smell delightfully lemony. It is the precise scent of lemon cleansers, exactly like what one might expect. The aroma is fresh and clean and unsurprisingly delightful!

With any wipes, one has to ask the fundamental question "does it work?" That depends on what one's expectation of this as a cleaner is. Wipes are traditionally good for cleaning up dirt where minimal scrubbing might be involved, the appeal being that the cleaner and the cloth are all in one and one does not need to worry about cleaning the cleaning cloth when one is done. In that regard, Clorox Lemon Fresh wipes are quite good. I was able to use a single sheet to dust off an entire set of shelves and a coffee table. But more than that, the Clorox Lemon Fresh Disinfecting Wipes proved themselves to me on some trouble places. For example, the remote control to my television (reviewed here!) was looking yellowed and sticky and one pass with the Clorox Disinfecting Wipes restored it to the silver/gunmetal color it was supposed to be! The real “wow” for me came when I took a microwave I had in college out of storage and used the wipe on that. The microwave had crud in it that had been in it and on it for, no kidding, at least ten years! One pass with the Lemon Fresh Disinfecting Wipe broke through the grease and scum and restored the white microwave to the appropriate color!

The results were pretty clear and simple. First, after all of the cleaning - much of which involved scrubbing - the wipe did not tear at all. This has durability going for it in a big way. As well, these wipes retained their moisture surprisingly well. It was only after I cleaned the wood around the cat's litterboxes - where litter dust has accumulated - that the wipes began to kick out and I had to do multiple passes to get the surfaces cleaned. These wipes hold up well with scrubbing and basic dusting.

The Clorox Lemon Fresh wipes also did a decent job of retaining the things they captured. I cleaned up the make-up residue early on and when I cleaned the wall next to the whiteboard, the surfaces got cleaned, I was not simply transferring powder from one location to another. As well, the wipes did get glass - both windows and mirrors - generally clean. Fingerprints and stuck-on gunk came off, though some required a little scrubbing for the wipes to lift.

The Lemon Fresh wipes do leave streaks on glass. They did not leave residue on glossy wood surfaces I cleaned with them, but those surfaces are not reflective or transparent to begin with, so it is not a difficult surface to clean and keep me happy with. As well, the scent of the lemon fluid on the wipes transfers nicely, leaving entire rooms smelling fresh and clean!

Both my wife and I found they did not leave any sort of film on us or our property.

Ultimately, I consider Clorox Lemon Fresh Disinfecting Wipes are a convenient alternative to the spray and wipe method of cleaning and having moved out and into a new place in the last week, I can authoritatively state that sometimes, it’s just nice to be able to clean that way!
