Garnier Goes Affordable And Great With Garnier Fructis Grow Strong Paraben-Free Fortifying Shampoo!

The Good: Great scent, Wonderful cleaning power, Surprisingly affordable, Conditioning properties
The Bad: Still a little pricier than comparable shampoos.
The Basics: Garnier Fructis's Grow Strong Paraben-Free Fortifying shampoo is a wonderful shampoo thar strengthens hair and makes it smell wonderful!


For most of my life, Garnier Fructis has been a brand that is notable to me for being a premium hair care product. So, as the brand has moved into more affordable territory, I have been pleasantly surprised as it has allowed me to try more of their products. On a recent business trip, I had to pick up some shampoo because my hotel was horrible. For the first time, the best-priced shampoo at the grocery store I went to was a Garnier product! Since then, I've been using Garnier Fructis Grow Strong Paraben-Free Fortifying Shampoo and my wife and I love it!

Garnier Fructis Grow Strong Paraben-Free Fortifying shampoo is one of the more affordable shampoos in the Garnier line; I found it for $3.50 for a 12.5 oz. bottle and that was quite reasonable for the quality. The bottles are flat on the sides and top, which makes it easy to hold when wet. Grow Strong Paraben-Free Fortifying is a white creamy shampoo that has good viscosity, though it is a little thicker, almost like a conditioner. The Grow Strong Paraben-Free Fortifying shampoo comes with a flip-top cap for easy access to the shampoo with one hand while in the shower.

Grow Strong Paraben-Free Fortifying is a shampoo, so there is no trick to using it. Simply place a dollop on your hand and rub it into your wet hair until it lathers up. Then rinse and repeat if necessary. I have long hair and I usually can get away with a quarter-sized dollop to clean my hair with most shampoos. That has easily held true with the Garnier Fructis Grow Strong Paraben-Free Fortifying Shampoo.

This Fortifying shampoo cleans and seems to do an amazing job of actually strengthening hair. My hair has gotten cleaner and stronger over the last two weeks, without even having to use conditioner!

On the scent front, Grow Strong Paraben-Free Fortifying Shampoo smells delightfully of apples. The scent is strong and pleasant and it endures on the hair for hours after the shampoo is rinsed out of the hair.

All in all, Garnier Fructis Grow Strong Paraben-Free Fortifying Shampoo is worthwhile and does all that is promises!

Garnier Fructis Hydra Recharge Works Well And Is Decent On The Environment!

The Good: Cleans hair effectively, Decent environmental impact, Scent is wonderful in shower and on the hair
The Bad: Scent in bottle is pretty gross, Comparatively expensive, Beads no not seem to actually do anything.
The Basics: Garnier Fructis Hydra Recharge Superfruit Beads with Goji Berry + Passion Fruit & Kiwi Fortifying shampoo for all hair types works fairly well, but lacks a decent cleaning gimmick.


Hair care products are a pretty competitive market. One need only to look at the average supermarket's hygiene section to see that there is a virtually unending supply of potential shampoos and conditioners for one to try. There are so many hair care products on the market that brands are often competing against themselves for business ("Should I try any of the five new OGX products or stick with the one I know and like?"). Garnier is certainly a brand that has a lot of options and usually, the hook for the shampoo is pretty obvious and hair-related. I did not find that to be the case with the Garnier Fructis Hydra Recharge Superfruit Beads with Goji Berry + Passion Fruit & Kiwi Fortifying Shampoo. To be clear, Garnier Fructis Hydra Recharge Superfruit Beads with Goji Berry + Passion Fruit & Kiwi Fortifying Shampoo is a fine shampoo, but the gimmick of the Superfruit Beads does not seem to do anything special for the hair, while the low environmental-impact of the shampoo is surprisingly enticing as we enter spring and summer and people who use shampoos (and might not rinse every last bit out or find themselves near water sources that could be contaminated by run-off) and have environmental concerns rise.

Garnier Fructis Hydra Recharge Superfruit Beads with Goji Berry + Passion Fruit & Kiwi Fortifying Shampoo appeared to do all that it promised, even if it was a little more expensive than most shampoos that do all they promise adequately enough for lower price points.

Garnier Fructis shampoos are part of an expensive line of hair care products that tend to be found for an average price of $5.00 per 13 oz. bottle in most markets in the United States. The bottles are flat on the sides and tapered at the top, which makes them easy to hold when wet. Hydra Recharge All Hair Types Fortifying is a bright green translucent shampoo that appears to be filled with bubbles (they are actually the Superfruit Beads). The Garnier Fructis Hydra Recharge Superfruit Beads with Goji Berry + Passion Fruit & Kiwi Fortifying Shampoo seems quite a bit thicker than most shampoos, coming out more like a gel than a fluid. The Superfruit Beads with Goji Berry + Passion Fruit & Kiwi Fortifying Shampoo shampoo comes with a flip-top cap for easy access to the shampoo with one hand while in the shower.

Garnier Fructis Hydra Recharge Superfruit Beads with Goji Berry + Passion Fruit & Kiwi Fortifying Shampoo is a shampoo, so there is no trick to using it. Simply place a dollop on your hand and rub it into your wet hair until it lathers up. Then rinse and repeat if necessary. I have long hair and I had to use a little bit more than a quarter-sized dollop to get through my entire mane. The shampoo was very thick coming out of the bottle, but once one begins to agitate it in the hair, it spreads and lathers nicely.

The Hydra Recharge All Hair Types Fortifying Shampoo does not claim to do anything other than clean hair and strengthen, which it does when one uses it each shower. The Garnier Fructis Hydra Recharge Superfruit Beads with Goji Berry + Passion Fruit & Kiwi Fortifying Shampoo cleans and - as I have been observing since using a hair care product that dried out and damaged my hair - seems to have some mild conditioning properties to it. After a few days with this shampoo on its own, some of the luster and shine came back to damaged portions of my hair. My hair's manageability has been improving and at the very least, this did not stunt that progress. It did not, however, appear to noticeably accelerate the process, either.

On the scent front, Garnier Fructis Hydra Recharge Superfruit Beads with Goji Berry + Passion Fruit & Kiwi Fortifying Shampoo was a real mixed bag. In the shower and on the hair, this shampoo smells like a pretty generic fruit salad. None of the fruit scents manage to break-out and wow me, but they are not unpleasant, either. In the bottle, though, there was a strangely acrid smell the longer the bottle was used. I swear, the first moments I smelled the Garnier Fructis Hydra Recharge Superfruit Beads with Goji Berry + Passion Fruit & Kiwi Fortifying Shampoo in the bottle, my brain yelled "mustard!" Fortunately, out of the bottle - even after the scent seemed to turn in the bottle - the Garnier Fructis Hydra Recharge Superfruit Beads with Goji Berry + Passion Fruit & Kiwi Fortifying Shampoo smelled fruity and delightful, if not wholly distinct.

As well, the Garnier Fructis Hydra Recharge Superfruit Beads with Goji Berry + Passion Fruit & Kiwi Fortifying Shampoo washes out easily, which seems to play in nicely to the promised environmental benefit of the shampoo. In the final analysis, Garnier Fructis Hydra Recharge Superfruit Beads with Goji Berry + Passion Fruit & Kiwi Fortifying Shampoo is good and (barely) good enough for the price.

Garnier Fructis Frizzy, Dry, Unmanageable Hair Fortifying Leave-in Conditioning Cream Works!

The Good: Moisturizes hair well, Great scent, Exceptionally easy to use

The Basics: Garnier Fructis's Triple Nutrition Dry, Damaged Hair Fortifying Leave-in Conditioning Cream is easily the most effective Leave-in Conditioning Cream I have yet used.


For years, I neglected my hair. The truth is, I get busy and I focus on other things and I just don't pay as much attention to my appearance as I probably should. Yes, married life is like that; because I have love in my daily life, I don't work on selling myself all that hard. That said, I've been working on showing my wife that I prioritize her and being healthy for her, so when I asked her what I could improve myself to continue to entice her, one of the instant appearance aspects she came up with was "fix your hair." So, I started using more aggressive hair conditioners and I started using Garnier Fructis Frizzy, Dry, Unmanageable Hair Fortifying Leave-in Conditioning Cream. Garnier Fructis Frizzy, Dry, Unmanageable Hair Fortifying Leave-in Conditioning Cream is, easily, one of the very best hair care products I have tried and despite its expense, it is worth it!

Garnier Fructis is well known as a quality brand and the Garnier Fructis Frizzy, Dry, Unmanageable Hair Fortifying Leave-in Conditioning Cream certainly bolsters that reputation fairly! The Garnier Fructis Frizzy, Dry, Unmanageable Hair Fortifying Leave-in Conditioning Cream is a product that works and after two months of use after each shower, my hair has a noticeable difference in appearance and manageability.

Garnier Fructis Leave-in Conditioning Creams are part of an expensive line of hair care products that tend to be found for an average price of $7.00 for a 10.2 oz. bottle in most markets, that I have found, in the United States. The bottles are round and slippery when wet. The top of the Garnier Fructis Frizzy, Dry, Unmanageable Hair Fortifying Leave-in Conditioning Cream is a pull top, squirt style bottle top. With the smooth sides of the bottle and the tight pull top opening to the bottle can make the Garnier Fructis Frizzy, Dry, Unmanageable Hair Fortifying Leave-in Conditioning Cream a little harder to get into, which is fine because it is not used in the shower (it is applied after). A single bottle lasted me about two and a half months.

Frizzy, Dry, Unmanageable Hair Intensely Smooth is a Leave-in Conditioning Cream; there is no trick or special skill to using it. Simply place a dollop on your hand and rub it into your mostly-dry hair, as close to the end of one's hair. For those with long hair (like me!), apply the Garnier Fructis Frizzy, Dry, Unmanageable Hair Fortifying Leave-in Conditioning Cream for the bottom portion of the hair, away from the scalp. The thick leave-in conditioning cream spreads very slowly through the hair and is aided by actually combing the leave-in conditioning cream through one's hair.

The Garnier Fructis Frizzy, Dry, Unmanageable Hair Fortifying Leave-in Conditioning Cream claims to both smooth and moisturize hair, which it does amazingly well when one uses it on a regular basis. After two weeks of daily use, I noticed my hair was less dry and cracked than before. After two months of using this leave-in conditioner, I have no problem getting a comb through my hair at any time I want. That is something I have not been able to do for, literally, twenty-two years!

As far as the scent, Garnier Fructis Frizzy, Dry, Unmanageable Hair Fortifying Leave-in Conditioning Cream smells delightfully of apricots. The apricot scent is strong and delightful in its sweet and sour aroma! The scent of the Garnier Fructis Frizzy, Dry, Unmanageable Hair Fortifying Leave-in Conditioning Cream remains in one's hair for about a day with normal use and normal activity (i.e. not working out!).

The Garnier Fructis Frizzy, Dry, Unmanageable Hair Fortifying Leave-in Conditioning Cream smells great, truly does heal split ends and completely fixes dry and damaged hair to leave it smooth and entirely manageable. The Garnier Fructis Frizzy, Dry, Unmanageable Hair Fortifying Leave-in Conditioning Cream delivers real, noticeable results and also leaves hair smelling amazing, doing all it promises with no real issues in usage. That makes it a fairly ideal leave-in conditioner.

The Basics: Garnier Fructis's Triple Nutrition Dry, Damaged Hair Fortifying shampoo is a good shampoo that does what it promises, even if it does so somewhat unremarkably.


I love my local discount store; they frequently get in products that are far more expensive other places and that I would not be able to enjoy at their full price. One such product is the Triple Nutrition Dry, Damaged Hair Fortifying shampoo from Garnier Fructis. The Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Dry, Damaged Hair Fortifying shampoo is a good, effective, shampoo that does what it promises, even if it does not moisturize hair in a particularly remarkable way and costs a little bit more than other, similar, shampoos.

I tend to stick to brands I know and like, even if I try their new products, and Garnier Fructis is well known as a quality brand. Their reputation was one of the big reasons I was eager to try the bottles of Triple Nutrition Dry, Damaged Hair Fortifying Shampoo, despite it not bowling me over with a distinctive or interesting scent when I smelled it in the store. This shampoo cleaned very well and moisturized as it promised, but did not leave any scent on the hair.

The Triple Nutrition Dry, Damaged Hair Fortifying shampoo comes with a flip-top cap for easy access to the shampoo with one hand while in the shower.

As far as the scent goes, Triple Nutrition Dry, Damaged Hair Fortifying has almost no scent and the scent it has is pretty much indescribable. The shampoo smells vaguely like apples, but the scent is neither strong, nor does it last long. The smell does not effervesce in a hot shower and it does not linger in the hair after it is rinsed out.

The Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Dry, Damaged Hair Fortifying shampoo rinses out of my hair remarkably easily, leaving no residue. This shampoo does all it promises, but does so without any flair, making for an excellent staple shampoo for those who want to fix their damaged hair!

Expensive And Costly Again, Garnier Fructis Pure Clean Normal Hair Fortifying Shampoo Is Just Pricey.

The Basics: Garnier Fructis's Pure Clean Normal Hair Fortifying shampoo is a very basic shampoo that Garnier makes users pay a high price for (relative to the quality).


When it comes to cost, most people consider only the price tag one pays at the store. I, especially in my role as a reviewer, have to consider the cost of usage, though. Truth be told, I live pretty inexpensively and most of my splurges are for products that I intend to review. So, when I saw the Pure Clean Normal Hair Fortifying shampoo from Garnier Fructis on clearance recently, I knew I would be reviewing it and I couldn't just consider the clearance price when considering its overall cost. Sadly, not a day has gone by when I have used it that I have not considered how the value of the clearance price was not actually a good deal; it takes almost twice as much (two latherings) to actually get my hair clean with this shampoo. Thus, the cost of usage is quite a bit higher than any number of less expensive shampoos I regularly purchase.

Their reputation was one of the big reasons I was eager to try the bottles of Pure Clean Normal Hair Fortifying Shampoo, despite its name not giving anything away about its scent and not being immediately drawn to the aroma when the bottle was opened. This shampoo cleaned, so long as the hair was not entirely greasy, and did not leave any scent on the hair. Moreover, while showering, the shampoo barely had a scent to it.

The Pure Clean Normal Hair Fortifying shampoo comes with a flip-top cap for easy access to the shampoo with one hand while in the shower.

Pure Clean Normal Hair Fortifying is a shampoo, so there is no trick to using it. Simply place a dollop on your hand and rub it into your wet hair until it lathers up. Then rinse and repeat if necessary. I have long hair and I usually can get away with a quarter-sized dollop to clean my hair with most shampoos. Unfortunately, this requires user use two quarter-sized dollops, rinsing in between. As a result, the bottle lasts less than a month, which is faster than it ought to have.

The Pure Clean Normal Hair Fortifying Shampoo does not claim to do anything other than clean hair, which it does when one uses it twice in one shower. This Fortifying shampoo cleans, but after a week and a half of use, I noticed no change in how strong my hair was, nor was it more manageable. As well, this shampoo did not have any conditioning properties, like healing split ends.

That said, in normal daily use, this was not a horrible shampoo. It does what it promises in terms of cleaning hair.

As far as the scent goes, Pure Clean Normal Hair Fortifying has almost no scent and the scent it has is pretty much indescribable. The shampoo smells vaguely citrusy, like the afterscent of limes on a glass. The rest is a pretty soapy smell. The smell does not effervesce in a hot shower and it does not linger in the hair after it is rinsed out.

On the positive side, it does rinse out of my hair remarkably easily. This shampoo may not be superlative, but it leaves no oily or heavy residue or obtrusive scents. But for the money, one hopes for more.
