Myah Is As Eager For The Grain Free As She Was For The Chicken & Rice: NutriSource Large Breed Grain Free Chicken Formula Dog Food!

The Good: Very nutritious, Myah enjoys it, Not as expensive as many other premium dog foods
The Bad: Still pricy, Gives Myah meaty breath!
The Basics: Myah enjoyed the NutriSource Large Breed Grain Free Chicken Formula dog food enough that she keeps asking for it, so it must have been good!

I think one of the best possible endorsements for a dog food is when Myah, my Siberian Husky, sees that I have taken the bag of food to my computer to get information off it for a review, after filling her bowl, she finishes her food and comes to where I am writing to beg for more. Such is how it was with the NutriSource Large Breed Grain Free Chicken Formula dog food. The grain-free variant of the Chicken & Rice dog food she loved before (reviewed here!), the Grain Free Chicken Formula was equally enjoyed by Myah, though it is a little pricy (for my tastes, or wallet).

NutriSource Large Breed Grain Free Chicken Formula dog food is one Myah clearly and consistently recommends.

Basics

A single serving of NutriSource Large Breed Grain Free Chicken Formula dog food is two and a half cups for a big dog like Myah and she is supposed to get one such serving per day, so a thirty pound bag lasts a fair amount of time. Getting two months out of the $50 bag is at the threshold of “too expensive” for me. Each piece of NutriSource Large Breed Grain Free Chicken Formula dog food is a light brown disc that is very mealy in its texture, though they are hard. They are approximately 5/8" in diameter and 1/8” tall. Myah often eats these a couple pellets at a time.

Ease Of Preparation

As a dry dog food, preparation of NutriSource Grain Free Chicken Formula dog food is as easy as opening a bag and measuring out the pellets inside. There is no further prep needed.

Myah’s Reaction

Myah loves this food, eagerly coming into the room whenever I open the bag. She consistently finishes everything that is in her bowl when this food is served. The Grain Free Chicken Formula dog food is one she does not hesitate consuming and, after a month of eating only this food, she remains interested in, which is always surprising for me. The NutriSource Grain Free Chicken Formula actually smells slightly meaty, but more like a generic dog food than any one distinct type of meat. The smell is not overbearing, but it does scent Myah’s breath after she gorges on it.

Nutrition

NutriSource Large Breed Grain Free Chicken Formula dog food is made primarily of Chicken, chicken meal, and pea starch, the ingredients are half natural. After “brewers yeast,” the ingredients degenerate into minerals and preservatives. According to the guaranteed analysis, NutriSource Large Breed Grain Free Chicken Formula dog food has at least 23% crude protein, 14% crude fat, but no more than 6% crude fiber and 10% moisture. As a dry dog food, it is highly recommended that you have adequate water available for your dog when serving it NutriSource Large Breed Grain Free Chicken Formula dog food.

Overall

NutriSource Large Breed Grain Free Chicken Formula dog food is a pretty wonderful dog food that Myah enjoys and I find easy to recommend, despite what it does to her breath (and the price).
