The Good: Very nutritious, Myah eats it and seems to enjoy it.
The Bad: Comparatively expensive, Myah is not so enthusiastic about it that she shows a strong positive reaction for it.
The Basics: Myah was thrilled to get a free four pound bag of Eukanuba Naturally Wild North Atlantic Salmon & Rice Formula dog food, but it took her a while to get through it because it was not the most exceptional dog food she has around.
When my wife and I went to the shelter and picked up our new cat, Timber, there was a box of freebies. Feeling incredibly financially insecure at the time, despite the fact that we were getting a cat, I very happily accepted the four pound bag of dog food the shelter had available. Poor Timber did not come with food, but he helped provide our Siberian Husky with food. That food was a four pound bag of Eukanuba Naturally Wild North Atlantic Salmon & Rice Formula Puppy Growth dog food. While Myah is not a puppy, this food was enough to please Myah, but not really thrill her (to the point that she would come running!).
Eukanuba Naturally Wild North Atlantic Salmon & Rice Formula dog food is a food that prides itself on having quality ingredients and providing a wide array of nutritional benefits and while Myah eats it, she does not get excited for it the way she does for many, many other dog foods of late.
Basics
A single serving of Eukanuba Naturally Wild North Atlantic Salmon & Rice Formula dog food is a two and a quarter cup for a big dog like Myah and she is supposed to get one serving per day, so a four pound bag only lasted us two and a half weeks for our five year-old fifty pound Siberian Husky. Each piece of Eukanuba Naturally Wild North Atlantic Salmon & Rice Formula dog food is a brown pellet that is very mealy in its texture and quite hard. They are approximately 3/8" in diameter and 1/4” thick. Myah often eats these several pellets at a time.
Ease Of Preparation
As a dry dog food, preparation of Eukanuba Naturally Wild North Atlantic Salmon & Rice Formula dog food is as easy as opening a bag and measuring out the pellets inside. There is no further prep needed.
Myah’s Reaction
Myah enjoys this food. The food has a slightly meaty, but mostly grainy scent to it. In fact, the aroma lost its meaty quality after two or three days after the bag was initially open. Myah did not respond enthusiastically to the aroma. Instead, she consumed the Eukanuba Naturally Wild North Atlantic Salmon & Rice Formula dog food when it was in her bowl and she was hungry. She did not necessarily come for it when I was filling her bowl (as she does with foods that she loves) and she did not avoid it when it was in her bowl (which she does with the few foods she loathes). Eukanuba Naturally Wild North Atlantic Salmon & Rice Formula dog food inspired a somewhat neutral reaction from choosy dog, but she made a point of picking the pellets out of other dry foods I mixed these dog foods with. So, she actually had a preference for it, though she was not excited by it on the surface.
The North Atlantic Salmon & Rice Formula left Myah’s breath largely unaltered; it smelled no worse for her eating this food, but she has pretty excellent canine dental health, so her mouth seldom smells bad!
Nutrition
Eukanuba Naturally Wild North Atlantic Salmon & Rice Formula dog food has a quickly-dissipating scent and is made with actual salmon. Made primarily of salmon, brewers rice and ground whole grain sorghum, very few of the ingredients are natural before the list turns into a chemistry equation. After “salt,” the North Atlantic Salmon & Rice Formula is a virtual vitamin pill. According to the guaranteed analysis, Eukanuba Naturally Wild North Atlantic Salmon & Rice Formula dog food has at least 29% crude protein, 18% crude fat, but no more than 4% crude fiber and 10% moisture. As a dry dog food, it is highly recommended that you have adequate water available for your dog when serving it Eukanuba Naturally Wild North Atlantic Salmon & Rice Formula dog food.
Overall
Eukanuba Naturally Wild North Atlantic Salmon & Rice Formula dog food is a good dog food, but because the four pound bag is seldom found for free, the cost of the food outweighs the benefits provided by it. Myah was not as enthusiastic for this food as I would want her to be in order to enthusiastically recommend it.
