Ruffles Max Loaded Bacon & Cheddar Potato Skins Potato Chips Underwhelm.

The Good: Not entirely unhealthy, These chips do not taste bad
The Bad: Not at all strongly flavored, Comparatively expensive
The Basics: Ruffles Max Loaded Bacon & Cheddar Potato Skins potato chips are unfortunately underflavored for a name that promises so much!

As a fan of flavorful potato chips, I was instantly intrigued yesterday when my wife picked up a bag of Ruffles Max Loaded Bacon & Cheddar Potato Skins potato chips. I love cheese, bacon, and flavor; sadly, these chips did not live up to any of those flavors in a way that was recognizable or especially enjoyable.

Basics

Loaded Bacon & Cheddar Potato Skins Ruffles Max, are a potato chip made from one of the world’s dominant salty snack producers, Frito-Lay. The Loaded Bacon & Cheddar Potato Skins Ruffles Max features a dusting of cheese and bacon-flavored powder baked on each and every (otherwise white) potato chip. This is a pretty standard potato chip flavor and a very average execution of it, though these are slightly thicker than cheap flat potato chips and they featured ridges along their surface.

Loaded Bacon & Cheddar Potato Skins Ruffles Max come in various sizes, but always in a bag. The size bag that my wife picked up was 8 3/4 oz. At a regular price in the $4.29 range, that seemed a bit overpriced to me, but fortunately, they go on sale frequently.

Ease Of Preparation

Ruffles Max Loaded Bacon & Cheddar Potato Skins potato chips are simple to enjoy; all you need do it open the bag and remove the potato chips from it! There is no trick to eating Loaded Bacon & Cheddar Potato Skins Ruffles Max; they are a snack that is ready to go from the bag to the mouth.

Taste

Loaded Bacon & Cheddar Potato Skins Ruffles Max smell only slightly like bacon. The scent is very muted and in the bag, they actually smelled a little like brownies as opposed to anything salty.

The Loaded Bacon & Cheddar Potato Skins Ruffles Max potato chips are surprisingly underflavored. The flavor is only mildly salty. The flavor is slightly bacon and it finishes with a sour cheesy flavor that is sublimated to a greasy texture indicative of bacon. Both flavors fade remarkably quickly.

The Ruffles Max Loaded Bacon & Cheddar Potato Skins potato chips have a greasy aftertaste, but it dissipates within two minutes of consuming the last chip. Moreover, this is one of the least salty potato chip aftertastes of any chip I have ever consumed.

Nutrition

Loaded Bacon & Cheddar Potato Skins Ruffles Max are a fairly natural snack, with, surprisingly, none of the ingredients being unrecognizable! The primary ingredients are potatoes, vegetable oil, and loaded bacon and cheddar seasoning. This has a shelf life of only a few months, so it is not the ideal salty snack to stock up on.

Each 1 oz., 11 chip, serving of Ruffles Max Loaded Bacon & Cheddar Potato Skins has 160 calories, ninety of which come from fat. There is a single gram of dietary fiber. While there are only 10 grams of fat and 2 grams of protein, there is a significant 170 mg of sodium, which represents 7% of one's RDA of sodium. There is a smattering of Calcium, Vitamins A and C, and Iron, but few other vitamins or minerals. This is not a health snack. There is a dietary note that the Loaded Bacon & Cheddar Potato Skins includes milk ingredients, which prevents them from being Vegan compliant, at the very least.

Storage/Clean-up

Kept in their bag, Loaded Bacon & Cheddar Potato Skins Ruffles Max will remain fresh for a couple of months, but once the bag is opened, it must be resealed, lest they get stale. I've never had to deal with issues of freshness for my Loaded Bacon & Cheddar Potato Skins Ruffles Max.

Cleanup is simple as well. Loaded Bacon & Cheddar Potato Skins Ruffles Max are a dry food, but because they are salty, greasy, and easily broken, they will require one to wash their hands afterward and should be wiped up to clean up.

Overall

When my wife bought the Loaded Bacon & Cheddar Potato Skins Ruffles Max, I was prepared for a real flavor explosions, but we ended up with a flavor fizzle.
