The Good: Tastes great, Relatively inexpensive, Not terribly unhealthy
The Bad: Not terribly nutritious
The Basics: Kernel Season’s Bacon Cheddar Popcorn Seasoning is easily one of the best ways to flavor popcorn!
When, for my birthday, my wife took me over 200 miles to see The Master (reviewed here!), it ended up as a huge disappointment for me. Honestly, the best part of that entire experience was the popcorn. The popcorn at the movie theater ended up being the best part of the movie experience because it was seasoned with Kernel Season’s Bacon Cheddar Popcorn Seasoning.
Basics
Kernel Season’s Bacon Cheddar Popcorn Seasoning is an orange powder that one sprinkles on their hot popcorn. We picked it up in the .9 oz. plastic container for only $1.00. After removing the safety seal below the flip-top cap, one has easy access to the Kernel Season’s Bacon Cheddar Popcorn Seasoning. The seasoning is basically a spice that adheres to the hot popcorn or liquefied margarine on popcorn.
Ease Of Preparation
Kernel Season’s Bacon Cheddar Popcorn Seasoning is exceptionally easy to use. After the popcorn is popped, add oil or spray margarine to the popcorn. Then, flip the lid to the Kernel Season’s Bacon Cheddar Popcorn Seasoning and sprinkle it on your popcorn. The container to the Kernel Season’s Bacon Cheddar Popcorn Seasoning has holes, much like any other major spice container. When one is done applying the seasoning, simple press closed the spice container.
Taste
Smelling the Kernel Season’s Bacon Cheddar Popcorn Seasoning, one gets the strong scent of cooked bacon. This spice smells strongly of real bacon and it is very inviting.
On the tongue, Kernel Season’s Bacon Cheddar Popcorn Seasoning is salty and delightful with a primary taste of bacon. The secondary taste is actually of a decent sharp cheddar cheese.
On popcorn, the Kernel Season’s Bacon Cheddar Popcorn Seasoning tastes mostly like cheddar cheese and the bacon flavor is secondary. This is a delightfully flavored popcorn seasoning.
Nutrition
I was actually shocked by how Kernel Season’s Bacon Cheddar Popcorn Seasoning is actually not that bad on the nutrition front. In a 1/4 teaspoon serving (there are 31 servings in the .9 oz container), there are only three calories. With only 98 mg. of Sodium, I was shocked that a serving only represented 4% of the RDA of Sodium! There are no other nutrients in the Kernel Season’s Bacon Cheddar Popcorn Seasoning.
On the ingredients front, Kernel Season’s Bacon Cheddar Popcorn Seasoning is surprisingly not terrible either! The Kernel Season’s Bacon Cheddar Popcorn Seasoning consists mostly of cheddar cheese, salt, and coconut oil. There is actually nothing unpronounceable in this spice. It does, however, contain milk, so lactose intolerant people and Vegans cannot have this. It is, however, Kosher and gluten-free.
Storage/Clean-up
I could find no expiration date on my container of Kernel Season’s Bacon Cheddar Popcorn Seasoning, but given that the final ingredients appear to be preservatives, it seems reasonable that – stored at room temperature – this will last indefinitely.
If the Kernel Season’s Bacon Cheddar Popcorn Seasoning gets on clothing, it will stain. Consult a fabric care guide for how best to get this out of any outfit you get this on. It easily wipes off any nonporous surface it gets on.
Overview
The Kernel Season’s Bacon Cheddar Popcorn Seasoning is a delightful additive to popcorn that is well worth picking up.
