Montagne Jeunesse Moisturizing Chocolate Masque Is A Fun, If Somewhat Pricy, Way To Keep Skin Hydrated!

The Good: It works, Great smell, Easy-to-use
The Bad: Expense, The packaging
The Basics: Montagne Jeunesse Moisturizing Chocolate Masque is a pain to get into and a little more than I like to spend on skin care products, but it undeniably works, making for a great overall product!

I miss my wife. Right now, she is away for a job and we won’t be reunited until the end of summer, which is a bit of a bummer as far as I’m concerned. I am, however, very happy for her because where she is working, she is making a lot of friends and that means she is having a lot of fun with women her age. This means I am no longer her companion for a “girls night in.” I have been. We’ve been pretty isolated the last few years and that means every few months, she’d buy ice cream, a pizza, get a new bottle of cream so I could give her a foot massage, and a new, dumb comedy to enjoy. On our last “girls night in,” she also picked up Montagne Jeunesse Moisturizing Chocolate Masque so we could do facials.

And that was fun. And weird. It is hard to complain about the Montagne Jeunesse Moisturizing Chocolate Masque; it works and the whole process of doing facials with a loved one can actually be a surprising amount of fun. That said, Montagne Jeunesse Moisturizing Chocolate Masque is not a perfect product by any measure.

The Montagne Jeunesse Moisturizing Chocolate Masque is essentially a face cream that dries on the face and cracks off (and ultimately is washed off) to leave your face moisturized without being greasy and gross. It opens the pores and it smells pretty awesome to boot. The Montagne Jeunesse Moisturizing Chocolate Masque comes in a .7 oz plastic envelope, which is absolutely annoying to get into. The packaging represents a single usage and my wife picked ours up on clearance for $1.00/ea. While this is not outrageously priced, it is more than I like to spend for a single application of pretty much anything. Beyond the expense, though, the packaging is irritating for the useage.

The plastic envelope of Montagne Jeunesse Moisturizing Chocolate Masque has a perforated corner that allows one to easily tear a strip of the package off and gain access to the contents of the envelope. Unfortunately, it is not really enough access; the thick cream inside (think of clay!) seems content to stay in the package and attached to the sides of the envelope. Especially for people with bigger fingers, the packaging makes it very difficult to get the Masque out. This is not a product where squeezing and massaging it actually helps get a lot of it to come out. I ended up cutting a slit along the side as well as going in through the top. By opening up two adjacent sides of the package, I was able to get the most out of the package. Outside the terrible environmental implications of the single-use package, the Montagne Jeunesse Moisturizing Chocolate Masque has a lot of waste associated with the product as it is virtually impossible to get it all out when you only open the top of the package.

Opening the envelope of Montagne Jeunesse Moisturizing Chocolate Masque, the consumer is instantly transported to a realm of chocolate deliciousness! The scent of chocolate that comes from the Montagne Jeunesse Moisturizing Chocolate Masque is overwhelming in the best possible way. In fact, one of my biggest concerns before the whole process began was how I would keep from drooling the whole time the masque was on! That and my concern that I would just get very, very hungry. The smell of the masque is entirely inviting and not at all medicinal.

Using the Montagne Jeunesse Moisturizing Chocolate Masque is exceptionally easy as well. First, wash your face with warm water. If you have any facial hair, you will want to get rid of it before beginning the treatment. After washing and drying your face, spread the Montagne Jeunesse Moisturizing Chocolate Masque evenly over your face and neck. It is a very thick cream, much like spreading clay or mud over your skin and one need not try to spread it. This is a product that works ideally caked on. Once you have the masque spread over your exposed, clean skin, you wait.

The Montagne Jeunesse Moisturizing Chocolate Masque becomes dry and hard, making it uncomfortable to move the face, especially talking. While blinking is irksome with the Montagne Jeunesse Moisturizing Chocolate Masque on, it does not hurt. Besides, the eyes seem to be one of the areas this masque cakes away from first! Most of the Montagne Jeunesse Moisturizing Chocolate Masque will cake off after forty minutes and the rest washes easily off with hot water.

The result is sufficiently impressive; the Montagne Jeunesse Moisturizing Chocolate Masque leaves skin feeling magically soft and supple, without being at all greasy. This is a nice treatment and I found that my skin felt rejuvenated for a full week afterward. My skin took about three days to get oily again, which is not a bad side effect. The chocolate scent lasted only about an hour after I washed the masque off. The Montagne Jeunesse Moisturizing Chocolate Masque comes off easy and is a very low stress way to both treat your skin and bond with a loved one; if only Montagne Jeunesse made it easier to dispense!

Well worth the money as a “once in a while” event, the Montagne Jeunesse Moisturizing Chocolate Masque lives up to its promises to make skin softer and smell exactly like chocolate!
