Good, But Not Overly Impressive, Keebler Mint Crème Middles Chocolate Graham Cookies Have An Intriguing Flavor Palate.

The Good: Tastes good, Fairly good ingredients
The Bad: Not the most healthy snack, Not as powerful a flavor as they could be.
The Basics: Keebler Mint Creme Middles Chocolate Graham cookies are good, but not truly great.

Keebler mint cookies came to me via my wife. Despite her wanting me to get healthy, she has been getting some delicious snacks for me for enjoyment and review. Following on the heels of the Keebler Fudge Sticks Jumbo Mint Wafer cookies (reviewed here!), my wife picked up a package of Keebler Mint Creme Middles Chocolate Graham flavored cookies. And I was generally happy with these cookies. They are flavorful and enjoyable, but they are not quite as impressive as I would have hoped. While they live up to all three of the promised flavors in the cookie, the flavors are each a little muted. The result is that none of them live up to their full potential.

Keebler Mint Creme Middles Chocolate Graham flavored cookies are a simple chocolate cookie, with a mint cream in the middle, that comes in a pretty standard cookie package. At $2.99 for the pack, these are actually pretty affordable and reasonably priced.

Basics

Keebler has been around forever, making cookies. The Keebler Mint Creme Middles Chocolate Graham cookies are wrapped in a single plastic package with support from a thin plastic tray. The cookies are very well protected by the tray.

Each 9 gram Keebler Cookie is a single cookie approximately 1 1/2" in diameter and 3/8” thick. Mint Creme Middles Chocolate Graham Cookies come in a 9.5 oz. box with thirty-eight cookies. The package does a decent job of preventing breakage, at least until one begins to eat many or most of these cookies. A serving of Keebler Mint Creme Middles Chocolate Graham cookies is three cookies.

Ease Of Preparation

Eating Keebler Mint Creme Middles Chocolate Graham cookies is not a real challenge, simply tray in the package and consume. When you have a cookie out, all you have to do is stick it in your mouth and chew; there is nothing complicated or foreign about eating these cookies. Keeping the other servings from going stale requires one to seal the package back up.

Taste

Opening the package of Keebler Mint Creme Middles Chocolate Graham cookies reveals a strong, cool mint scent. However, it is in the scent that the graham flavor truly comes out. The cinnamon and graham aroma balances with the peppy mint scent.

Placing the Keebler Mint Creme Middles Chocolate Graham Cookies on the tongue, one might be surprised by how subtle the mint flavor actually is. The cookie is dominated by an actual chocolate flavor and the center is creamy, as opposed to impressively mint flavored. Chewing through the cookies, the chocolate and a slight mint flavor blend nicely, but the dry chocolate flavor is far stronger than the hint in the aftertaste of graham cracker. These cookies are not overwhelmingly dry, nor excessively graham flavored. The chocolate and a general mint flavor do linger in the mouth after one is done eating these.

Nutrition

Keebler Mint Creme Middles Chocolate Graham cookies are intended as a sweet snack, not a full meal. Three of these 9 gram cookies represents a single serving and they are not especially nutritious. Made primarily of sugar, enriched flour, and vegetable oil. This is not an all-natural food product and these cookies were produced on equipment that forces them to add a disclaimer about milk, soy, and wheat.

Keebler Mint Creme Middles Chocolate Graham cookies have a whopping 130 calories for a single cookie serving, 60 of which are from fat. A full serving represents 20% of one's RDA of saturated fat, though they are cholesterol free. As well, they are fairly low in sodium for a cookie, having only 75 mg per serving. They have a gram of protein and only two percent of the RDA of Iron . . . and no other real nutrients. As one who is working on getting heart-healthy, I wish there had been even a gram of dietary fiber. The lack of nutritional value is disappointing.

Storage/Cleanup

Keebler Mint Creme Middles Chocolate Graham cookies are easy to care for and clean up. Unopened, they have a pretty short shelf life; we purchased a box on the first day of May (2012) and they have an expiration date of June 24, 2012. Kept sealed, I am sure they would have lasted at least that long. As cookies, one need only not shake the box excessively to care for them and wipe away any crumbs after eating them. This is a low-stress food!

Overall

Keebler Mint Creme Middles Chocolate Graham cookies are good and have a decent flavor, though they could be a little more flavorful. Keebler makes a good cookie, but these are not a truly exceptional cookie.
