There’s Something Fishy For Myah: It’s PureBites Freeze-Dried Ocean Whitefish Dog Treats!

The Good: VERY healthy, Good ingredients, Smells exceptionally fishy!
The Bad: No dental benefits
The Basics: Despite making her breath smell, Myah was eager to keep trying PureBites Freeze-Dried Ocean Whitefish dog treats!

Myah, my Siberian Husky, gets so many treats and it is a rare thing that she gets the same type treats multiple times. So, when she goes for a treat many times when it is offered to her, it really says something. One of the few that she has picked out when we actually went to the local pet store was the PureBites Freeze-Dried Ocean Whitefish Dog Treats. The PureBites Freeze-Dried Ocean Whitefish dog treats are a rare fishy dog treat that Myah actually adores.

Basics

We picked up a whole bunch of .11 oz. trial sizes of PureBites Freeze-Dried Ocean Whitefish on clearance for $.99/ea., which is not the best way to get them, but they come in a bulk bag that is worth the price. The PureBites Freeze-Dried Ocean Whitefish were a great treat to use as a training reinforcement tool.

The PureBites Freeze-Dried Ocean Whitefish dog treats are little dry off-white dog snacks that look like taffy or macaroons! When the bag is opened initially, the Freeze-Dried Ocean Whitefish treats have an exceptionally strong fish smell. The scent is so strong that it leaves a fishy smell on the hands for minutes afterward . . . even if one has not directly touched the snack. Each snack is approximately 3/4" thick and wide and 2" long. The surface of the Freeze-Dried Ocean Whitefish treat is grainy and hard, much like freeze-dried ice cream.

Ease Of Preparation

This is a ready-to-eat dog treat and only requires one to open the bag to dispense. This is a very krinkly plastic so, Myah rushed to get these treats as soon as she heard the bag.

Myah’s Reaction

The PureBites Freeze-Dried Ocean Whitefish has no discernable dental benefits, so despite the fact that Myah comes running whenever the bag is open and they are good for dogs. Still, Myah loves them. Sadly, Myah’s breath goes from being bad to worse when she eats these; the fishy scent is so strong that it makes her breath smell like fish for an hour afterward.

Myah loves these. This is one of the treats she illustrated a strong preference for when given a choice between this and other treats. Given how expensive they are, by comparison to smaller, training, treats, they are too expensive to be an everyday treat. Myah always goes for water whenever she eats the PureBites Freeze-Dried Ocean Whitefish Dog Treats.

Nutrition

The PureBites Freeze-Dried Ocean Whitefish dog treats are exceptionally healthy. With at least 90% crude protein, 3% crude fat and no more than 1% crude fiber and 4% moisture, the PureBites Freeze-Dried Ocean Whitefish offers great nutrition to dogs. Made entirely of ocean whitefish, PureBites Freeze-Dried Ocean Whitefish appear to have nothing bad in them. They also do not have any preservatives, but given that they are freeze-dried they have an indefinite shelf life. As with all dog treats, it is highly recommended that when you give your dog PureBites Freeze-Dried Ocean Whitefish, you make sure they have a decent supply of clean water available. PureBites Freeze-Dried Ocean Whitefish treats are not intended to replace dog food.

Overall

PureBites Freeze-Dried Ocean Whitefish treats are wonderful, but a bit expensive and smelly for an everyday treat for big dogs like Myah.
