A Mature Look At Personal Lubricants (For Sex!), Wet Pina Colada Flavored Lubricant Satisfies!

The Good: Tastes good (on and off skin!), Lubricates very well, Washes off easily.
The Bad: Sticky when worked in.
The Basics: Wet Flavored Lubricant, in the Pina Colada flavor, delivers on its taste/lubricating promises and a 10.1 oz. bottle will last a couple a long time!

I often find myself surprised by how few people write reviews of products designed to enhance lovemaking as well as how few people seem to read them! Then again, my only experience so far was with evaluating the Pleasures Cheesecake Flavored heating massage lotion (reviewed here!). This is not enough to dissuade me from reviewing other products designed to increase intimacy.

On our recent trip back to Michigan, my partner and I went looking for a little variety for some fun when she wasn't busy with friends. As a playful and seductive way to spice up our lovemaking, we decided to add some flavors to our routine and see where that went. After the underperforming Pleasures oil, we decided to give Wet Flavored Lubricant a try. We both have an affinity for pina colada, so choosing a flavor was pretty easy.

Basics

Wet Flavored Lubricant, as the name implies, is a water-soluble personal lubricant. The pina colada flavor comes in several containers and sizes, from a 10 ml sample size pouch to the full 10.1 oz. phallic looking bottle. The 10.1 oz bottle is not discrete, as the six inch tall plastic bottle is a decent quantity of the lube. The opaque white bottle reveals a clear water-based lubricant. This is surprisingly watery (more surprising because it actually works!), is clear and is advertised as being non-staining.

The top of the bottle is a white plastic cap which screws on and off easily enough. We paid $16.99 for the bottle at a specialty shop* and there is a safety seal on the product so it is easy enough to figure out if one has gotten an unopened bottle of the product. The cap is easy to unscrew, but once one starts using the lubricant, if they need more, they are likely to find the smooth plastic cap problematic to get on and off.

Ease Of Use

Wet Pina Colada flavor lubricant is easy to use; either apply it directly to the hands or the area one wants lubricated. The bottle is rather imprecise to use; there is no dropper or even smaller hole to regulate the fluid. Instead, the opening is like the top to a hotel shampoo bottle; wide open and designed for easy removal of the product. I've found that much enjoyment can be gained by drizzling the flavored lubricant over sensitive areas, both erogenous and non.

Wet Flavored Lubricant is a very watery fluid, with almost no leg in the bottle. As a result, it comes easily when one simply tips the bottle to remove the product from the container. It is not designed to be massaged into skin (or latex), so the fluid is generally used to coat fingers, erogenous areas or toys before insertion in order to ease the passage of said items. Wet Flavored Lubricants, pleasantly enough, do not leave an oily feeling. Instead, the Wet lubricant feels surprisingly like water, yet skin glides over skin as if it were oiled up very well with this lube.

As well, this product is easy to clean up either by licking off one's partner or washing off with a washcloth. Interestingly two to three laps of a determined tongue will get this off the skin such that it is neither sticky, nor requires additional washing (though I always recommend that anyway).

Here, though, comes the problem with the product. Using the Wet Flavored Lubricant on places where the flavor is more important than the lubricant can result in having to commit to the product as opposed to the enjoyment. Leaving the lubricant on skin and applying friction seems to evaporate the water after ten to fifteen minutes. Thus, for extended lovemaking sessions, stray lubricant on chest or abdomen areas not busy lubricating can become sticky. This does not leave the most wonderful postcoital feeling for users.

Used as a foreplay enhancer, this is excellent and for actual acts of intimacy requiring - or enhanced by - lubricant - the Wet Pina Colada flavor holds up for quite some time. However, as we've used this more, we have noticed it reacts as it is used such that using more is definitely better than using less. When we first started using this, we tried to be thrifty about it, but we noticed when less was used and friction was applied, the lubricant becomes a butter.

The package makes no statements about being latex friendly, but there is nothing in it which is reactive with latex. On latex sleeves, it works all right as a lubricant without any difficulty in cleaning or denaturing the latex. This is a great lube either for latex to skin or skin to skin contact, offering a flavorful alternative to something like K-Y.

Taste/Special Function

Here, Wet Pina Colada Flavored Lubricant is perfect. This effervesces as pina colada as soon as it is out of the body and by the time it hits one's skin, it smells wonderfully of pineapple and coconut. This perfectly embodies the advertised flavor and that is a real treat for those who love the taste of pina coladas, but do not want the alcohol or sticky sensation of licking an actual pina colada off their partner. The Wet Flavored Lubricant is sugar free, as well, so that is probably why it cleans up so well, though it does make it a mystery as to why it tastes so sweet as well (there is no corn syrup here, either!).

There is no special function like heating from this lube. It does what it promises, though, by lubricating and tasting like pina colada!

Cleanup/Storage

The bottle of pina colada flavored personal lubricant is as durable as a shampoo bottle and one imagines if it is kept closed, the product will remain fresh indefinitely. However, given that the primary ingredients are deionized water and glycerin, if it is left open and the water evaporates, one assumes this will crystallize and probably be unusable. Given that we've used it about ten times now and there is still 7/8 of a bottle remaining, this will likely last a happily involved couple quite some time.

As for cleanup, skin or non-permeable surfaces may simply be wiped off with a damp cloth. If the product spills, only clothes are likely to have problems with it and this does wash right out, even if it is not dealt with right away. This lives up to its promise of being stain free as well.

Overall

Easy to use, flavorful and living up to its promise to deliver lubricant for acts of romantic adventurism, Wet Pina Colada Flavored Lubricant may add some spice or variety to any loving couple's lovemaking!
