Blistex Herbal Answer Works Fine!

The Good: Does what it promises to, Discrete, Does not taste bad, No greasy residue
The Bad: No kissable taste, May melt in a pocket!
The Basics: Devoid of extra scents or tastes, Blistex Herbal Answer Lip Protectant adequately protects from sun and cold from its easy-to-use tube!

I was recently using a lip medication for a cut and found it was drying the healthy parts of my lips out and I used this to counteract the medicine. It worked.

Blistex Herbal Answer Lip Protectant is a waxy protectant (not to be confused with its similar gel product) that comes in a 2 1/2" by 1/2" tube (.15oz). The product is protected from the elements by a cap made of the same light green plastic as the rest of the tube and the cap must be pulled off to use the protectant. The Herbal Answer protectant is a semisolid (soft waxy) lip balm that is dispensed by turning the wheel at the base, which raises the stick like a standard lipstick/protectant.

Blistex Herbal Answer Lip Protectant is a faint green in color, but it does not color the lips when applied. As a soft, waxy protectant, it is applied by simply dragging the stick over the lips after the product is protruding from its plastic casing (failure to do that will cause the hard plastic of the tube to scrape the lips, which defeats the purpose of the product). This lip protectant then acts as a barrier between the elements and as one who has used it under conditions from cold New York and Michigan winters to driving long distances in the pounding sun, this lip protectant adequately does its job.

Herbal Answer goes on smoothly and with its SPF15 rating it offers limited protection from the sun under normal conditions. The purpose of this product is to keep lips soft, moisturized and protected from the elements. The waxy nature of the product creates a physical barrier to protect lips, but the aloe in the protectant goes a long way to keeping lips soft and well-hydrated.

This product, however, comes off within an hour (less if one is involved with a lot of kissing or eating). Moreover, while it keeps lips soft, which I can attest to given how dry mine were getting from my medicine, it does not heal cuts or have any taste. As a result, this is not a taste that will linger on another's lips after kissing to remind them of you. Those looking for an odorless, tasteless lip protectant will find this one works.

Finally, the Herbal Answer is a soft product already, thus it ought to be kept a room temperatures for use; keeping it in a pocket is likely to cause it to melt and make a mess.

For those looking for a good, natural, lip protectant and moisturizer, this is a good one!
